The Last of Us Part II è uno dei tanti giochi che avrebbe potuto ricevere un’apparizione ai The Game Awards, ma lo sviluppatore della serie non ha confermato alcuna notizia sul fatto che il gioco verrà condiviso durante la premiazione.
Naughty Dog, i creatori di The Last of Us e il suo sequel, nonché altri giochi come la serie Uncharted, hanno dichiarato martedì che “non avremo nulla di nuovo da condividere con The Last of Us Part II”. L’annuncio è arrivato pochi giorni prima dei premi mostrava dove un’apparizione dal gioco e dallo sviluppatore era ancora una possibilità basata su teaser precedenti. Lo sviluppatore ha detto che nonostante non ci siano novità da condividere ai The Game Awards, c’è ancora del lavoro da fare sul gioco con altre info da svelare in seguito.

Con The Last of Us, parte II, essendo uno dei giochi più attesi su PlayStation 4 che ancora non hanno una data di uscita, quelli che hanno giocato la prima parte sono stati alla ricerca di più trailer o qualsiasi tipo di notizia. The Game Awards ha pubblicato un trailer per lo show che ha mostrato The Last of Us Part II come uno dei primissimi giochi presenti nella clip, che l’avvistamento ha portato molti ad aspettarsi che ci fossero alcune novità sul gioco. Il produttore dei The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley, ha avvertito che il trailer non era destinato a svelare nulla ed era invece pensato per celebrare i giochi.
The Last of Us Part II non è l’unico gioco che non farà la sua apparizione durante i The Game Awards. CD Projekt Red ha annuciato su Twitter nello stesso modo in cui ha fatto Naughty Dog in modo che le aspettative per l’ apparizione di Cyberpunk 2077 si attenuassero .
I Game Awards si terranno il 6 dicembre alle 18:00 PT.
